About this event

‘Co-design’ and ‘user involvement’ are in the spotlight as charities and funders look to give service users power and a role in decisions that affect them. Done well, co-design can unlock positive outcomes for participants, organisations and communities. Designing services and strategies with people rather than to people can build solutions that better address their needs and increase a charity’s impact.

But there is a danger that co-design becomes just a buzzword rather than bringing organisational change. Good co-design takes time to plan, set up, recruit participants, encourage and sustain engagement, and ensure participants can contribute fully.

At this event we will:

  • Explore how charities and funders can embed co-design at different stages of their work
  • Hear from organisations about how they have co-designed services and the benefits and challenges they’ve experienced
  • Discuss good practice in co-design for creating greater impact
