In the charity sector, responsibility for IT normally lies with a non-technical board director, typically the Finance Director. This "Reluctant IT Director" has to manage technical personnel and resources to ensure that the IT systems are reliable, resilient and secure, but also keeping a watchful eye on expenditure.

In a recent Investec survey it was discovered that cyber security is one of the five top challenges keeping Finance Directors awake at night.

Cyber security is not something you can ignore and with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) coming in to force in May next year, there are even further challenges ahead.

If you are accountable for the IT in your organisation and concerned about cyber security, and how this could impact your charity, then this event is for you. Please note that this event is not suitable for IT Directors or technical staff.

We will be focusing on key topics to help you assess and manage risks around cyber security, including processes and people, such as:

1. User awareness

  • Social Engineering Scams
  • Password policies

2. Physical Security - Remote Access & Mobile Devices - Cloud Services - Securing your
