The page provides a list of resources to help find new public sector contract opportunities.

As well as the list below, you can find out about contracts through:

  • local voluntary and community sector networks and publications
  • direct contact with the purchaser, such as a government department or local authority. online sources. Most contract opportunities are available on websites and you can often sign up to be alerted to contracts that may be of interest to you
  • specialist magazines or local newspaper adverts
  • inspection reports from organisations such as the Care Quality Commission and Ofsted. As well as alerting you to established contracts, these reports can provide useful information on how current contractors are performing and the criteria used to measure performance.

National and free resources

Funding Central

Funding Central is an NCVO website for charities, voluntary organisations and social enterprises with free subscriptions for organisations with a turnover under £100K. It provides access to thousands of funding and finance opportunities. It also has a wealth of tools and resources supporting organisations to develop sustainable income strategies appropriate to their needs. It covers funding and finance opportunities for organisations registered in England from European, national, regional and local government and charitable sources.

Contracts Finder

Contracts Finder lets you search for information about contracts with the government and its agencies worth over £10,000. Use Contracts Finder to search for contract opportunities in different sectors. You can also find out what is coming up in the future and refer to details of previous tenders and contracts. You can create an account to get email updates and save your searches.

Tenders Electronic Daily

Tenders Electronic Daily (TED) is a free online searchable version of the Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union, a publication dedicated to European public procurement. It allows users to access public sector contract opportunities published every day throughout the European Union.


mytenders is an online gateway for the publication and management of tender notices in the UK. mytenders includes lower value tender notices and high-value notices sourced directly from the Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU).

NHS Supply Chain

The NHS Supply Chain provides healthcare products and supply chain services to the UK's National Health Service. It currently manages the procurement and delivery of products for more than 600 healthcare organisations.


The free service, CompeteFor enables businesses to compete for contract opportunities linked to major public and private sector buying organisations.


B2B focuses on low-value public and private sector tenders and high-value OJEU tenders.

Regional and free options

Due North

Due North is a provider of sourcing and contract software. It produces a range of procurement portals which provide the supplier community with a single point of reference for all contract opportunities and procurement updates within a geographic region or sector.

North East Procurement Organisation

The North East Procurement organisation (NEPO) undertakes high-value procurement in major strategic areas of spending on behalf of the twelve north-east local authorities, as well as a number of associate members. It offers a free searchable tool that allows you to sign up to receive email notifications of local tender opportunities, as well as register your organisation’s interests.

South East Business Portal

The South East Business Portal is a free searchable resource. It is designed to support the sharing of information about existing contracts and forthcoming tendering opportunities across the 74 councils and nine fire and rescue services in the south-east region.

The Chest

The Chest has been created with funding from the North West Centre of Excellence [ ]to bring together buyers and suppliers. It makes it easier for businesses to find out about sources of potential revenue and to grow and develop companies for the benefit of the local economy.
