Frameworks and toolkits for evaluating mentoring and befriending projects

This page is free to all
The frameworks, toolkits and outcome measures for mentoring and befriending projects draw on a number of disciplines and take various forms
  • Mentoring and befriending specific tools: these tools are specifically focused on monitoring and befriending projects.
  • Generic tools and guides: certain monitoring and evaluation guides and toolkits are generic, and can be applied to mentoring and befriending projects.

The reasons for choosing a particular tool can be affected by:

  • cost
  • requirements from funders
  • how much time and money it takes to maintain the chosen system.

We have our own free how to guides:

NCVO Charities Evaluation Services have written about planning impact and evaluation, and how to develop a monitoring and evaluation framework.

There are also a variety of other frameworks and tools, outlined below.
