Volunteer induction course by Sarah — last modified Nov 02, 2012 11:09 AM
Hi, I know that volunteer induction courses can be quite specific to the organisation that runs them but I'm sure there are things one needs to consider regardless of the type or size of organisation, its objectives etc. We're a medium-sized charity with branches in other countries as well and I think it would be great if we could reach our volunteers across the world with a basic induction course (delievered as videos on KnowHow) to which we can then add anything that is specific to our own organisation. I think it would be a useful course to other charities as well. Thanks!
How to be great at handling media interviews by member30993 — last modified Oct 31, 2012 03:32 PM
It's a scary thing for many charity spokespeople so I'm hoping there will be lots of users interested in this. I'd like to become more confident communicating my charity's key messages to the media during interviews, be able to adapt my style to different media (TV, radio) while staying on message, and handle pressure in media interviews better (particularly live interviews!). Cheers.

So many novices make attempts and issue press releases that simply end up in the bin. A course designed to outline the key structure of 'must do's' for a press release, when to issue a press release, who to submit to, response from a newsroom, and sound bites. This would save so much time and effort.
