You must check that all new trustees are eligible to serve, and trustees should sign a declaration confirming that they are eligible and willing to serve. Information about eligibility should be included in your induction pack for new trustees.

There are new rules coming in to force August 1 2018 around automatic disqualification. Read the Charity Commission's guidance on how to prepare with regard to both your new and existing trustees
